OMG, OMG, how thrilling was that to watch Christine Magnuson of the UT vols swim team, win a silver medal in the butterfly stroke. Since Friday night with those incredible opening ceremonies , I haven’t been able to stop watching the Olympics. I’m almost thinking of having my recording of the opening ceremonies be required watching for everyone who comes into my house. I’ve never seen anything like that or at that level of production. Just incredible is a word that comes to mind.
Micheal Phelps is another one we are staying up all night just to see if he can get another gold medal….and then another, ………and another.
The summer Olympics are so unique in that we find sports we’ve never heard of and are so mesmerized that we can’t stop watching it. Last night we were introduced to synchronized divining. After only a few minutes Zaina and I caught on to the event and started commenting on this thing and that thing. Gosh….give a synchronized diver a break.
On Saturday we watched the final of the women’s fencing. America took all three medals but for the life of me can someone please tell me why when a fencer "touches" the opponent they scream this horrific shrilling scream ? I kept thinking someone was hurt. It made me nervous.
All in all I love the spirit of the Olympics and the thought that someone somewhere on the planet is watching the same event as I am . Now that’s synchronized watching.
