Lavendar and Fire

We had definate autumn weather this weekend.  We heard on friday that the weather was going to get cold on Sunday. After hearing this great news we knew that our weekend had been dictated to us as a "get ready for Winter weekend".

Rebecca and I picked the last of the lavendar and hung it up to dry for later use as lavendar wands

On Sunday we awoke to a cold house. I watched as my family descended the stairs all wrapped in blankets.  It was clear that we wanted to pull out oour wool, goose down blankets, and quilts, but above all we just wanted a fire.

The afternoon consisted of going up to the Stuga and starting a large campfire.  We cooked our lunch on it, we poked it, added to it, and drank coffee beside it. We also bailed out the paddle boat and had a quick spin around the lake.  Ruth and I picked four bags of apples from our tree and we will make apple butter this week.  It was just the perfect fall weekend.

  1. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the fall weather while it lasts! It makes me crave the smell of pumpkin pie and hot cider! And all the other comfort foods of fall and winter!
