It is an amazing thing these children are. When did these sweet little things grow up? Before we had children we knew a couple of things. The first is that we would love them beyond breathing. The second is that we wanted each one of them to be a global citizen. This is their world and we wanted them to know it. From the tallest tree, to the bluest ocean. We envisioned them meeting all sorts of people who speak as many languages. We encouraged them to see this planet and their place in it via art, food, music, nature, and playing with new found friends but most of all we wanted them to feel at ease in the world.

My patterns were fixed. Pregnancy,give birth, get birth certificate, get them a passport. And just like that we became the travelling tribe. Totally inspired by the people and places on this lovely planet we call home, we would write songs, poems, draw pictures, construct towers but the one thing we have all come to share is our love of the camera.

On our last journey my "big" girl Zaina has taken my breath away with her captured moments of our trip to the Antilles. Over the next couple of days I will be sharing her look at some wonderful places and the people who call it "my island".
