I was visiting Ren's blog Lady of the Arts today when I saw the most incredible video. Filmed in the Japanese forest of Kyushu. A wooden ball goes down a very long wooden marimba playing Bach's Cantata # 147: Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring. The sound you hear comes from the actual marimba and is not super imposed.

I know when little "o" gets hold of this it will inspire him to do the same thing. Maybe we'll start with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star before we work our way through the Smoky Mountains with more dificult repetoire .This amazing instrument was made by Kenjiro Matsuo at Invisible Design Lab.

    Valarie,
I, too, saw this amazing video several days ago and was mesmerized by it! Whoever created it must have spent HOURS getting everything just right. It was music to my ears! πŸ˜€

That is amazing. The patience that went into putting it all together. Wow! I can’t wait to show this to my children. I think we might try a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Maybe just the first bar! Thanks for sharing.

So glad you could hear it!!! That’s so wonderful. I bet it took weeks to put it together. Can you imagine coming up with such an idea?

Hi Cheryl. Thanks for stopping by and visiting. The amount of work this took is incredible. Probably months if not weeks just in the concept. It has greatly inspired my youngest who is testing the sound difference in various wood and bamboo. I knew he would have this reaction. Be well and I’m coming over to visit.
