First let me tell you about the post that isn't. Yesterday I spent all this time writing about my new ipad2 and the incredible things it can do. Included was a list of great Apps. When I was finished I clicked on publish and that's when my post got lost in cyber-space. It's never happened to me in 4 years of blogging and so I just have to chalk it up to fate that it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully soon I'll rewrite that post for y'all.

Now other news,

On Sundays, when the kids were little, we use to meet over at the Roseman's for brunch also known as the ultimate Nosh. Barry and I would cook dish after dish, and there would be 5 or more cute kids running around. As the kids got older our Noshes got more spread out until finally we went to dinner on birthdays and celebrated holidays.

This Spring break the kids organized a "Family Dinner" to bring back the Noshes of yor. They requested their favorite dishes from each one of us and we had a great time.

There is always a lot of bantering between Rosebros and B kids.

There is always lots of food.

A frequently requested dish, lentils and rice with yogurt.

There is also many silly moments. For a couple of years we had the table crab. If you wanted to talk or if you were speaking you had to have the table crab in your possession or sitting by your plate. After this past summer the table crab got lost, maybe he went out to sea. Now I see we have a table turtle and evidently one is to wear it on their head while speaking.

Did I mention there is a lot of food?

As some of the kids have gone off to college and some are preparing to graduate high school and head in the Univeristy direction, they embrace a sense of nostalgia about their childhoods. I've seen each one of them in turn ask to recreate a happy childhood moment. I'm so glad tha "Family Dinner" is one of them.

What are some of the happy moments your children love?

  1. I have had one of those disappearing posts (in fact it went through a stage where every other one seemed to go!) and I have great sympathy! Its such a pain when it does it after loads of hard work and I am obsessive about saving now…sounded an interesting post too (ipad wow!)
The happy moments the boys love are the friends parties we have for each birthday – all the friends they have known since they were babies – sort of like a made up extended family! ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. Of course I don’t have an answer for this since my Hilla is only 8 mos old, but just wanted to say how delicious the food looks and how very nice it is that you’ve contributed to these sweet memories for your kids. One of the things I’m really looking forward to doing as a mother is carrying on family traditions and establishing new ones too!

  6. I promise to repeat the Ipad post. I have even more apps now. I love that contraption! I have your famous knitting app. How have I lived without that?
The Roseman’s are our extended family as well. Since are families live all over the world, we’ve created family from our friends. We have so many wonderful memories.

  12. what a great tradition. I hope, more than anything, that some of our traditions will be requested when my girls are older. That seems like it would be the ultimate parenting compliment.

  13. Well..I personally believe that when families dine together, they tend to eat more vegetables and fruits and fewer fried foods, soda, and foods with trans fats, research shows. When younger kids frequently eat dinner with their families, they are less likely to be overweight than other children.
