KAL with Natural Suburbia

Finally I've found 5 seconds to pick up the sticks and string again. Happily I'm participating in Linda's knit a long. This time it's the Shalom Cardi. I've wanted to knit this for years and now I've found the perfect occasion.

Here's how far I've gotten. So far so good. No big hic-ups yet. My yarn is from "the stash". I have 20 balls of this yarn and am determined to make it work no matter what. The first thing I'm noticing is that it doesn't show the pattern very well, but this yarn is easy to handle and I think it will make a very cozy sweater.

While you're reading this I'm in NYC at Book Expo America. I'll be back at the end of the week with fun news from New York City.

Until then please don't forget about the 5 book Percy Jackson Giveaway over at Jump Into A Book.  Ends May 28th !!!

  3. Oh no – I wish I hadn’t seen this. I’ve wanted to do the shalom for ages too – and I have the yarn, but not the time. Too many other things on needles right now that are needing to be finished soon. ooh – ooh.

  5. that yarn DOES look cozy! I love that sweater. let me know how it goes for you and maybe I’ll give it a go sometime. Hopefully it won’t end up fitting my seven year old this time.

  7. Yours is so cute. The 20 balls of yarn happened like this. First they were having a sale and second I decided to knit myself and two girfriends matching sweaters. Really what was I thinking? So as you’ve probably guessed no sweaters have been knit with that yarn until now and I promise I won’t make any knitted uniforms for me and my friends unless of course they live faraway like Wales or something.

  11. Well at least you have a 7 year who can wear it. It would be totally different if you didn’t but what the heck, let’s go for the adult version. ๐Ÿ˜‰
