The Stick Fort

Late on a summer afternoon, after exhausting his mother, Little "O" summoned the help of a new partner to hack and tie together the stick fort.

I loved listening to their conversations about stick length and fort dimensions,

Watching this papa embrace his son's love of building and spending some great time outdoors brought a sense of calm to my little family.

As they continued to build, dream and ponder, this momma fired up the grill for a late summer barbeque.

  1. Love this and the last post Valli – I hope we also get to see it finished!? I think maybe being the only one at home now has its compensations (a hacket being one of them!!) Happy Roald Dahl day – sorry for being late ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Dear Valarie
Somehow a boy just has to build, has to make a fort, a place…I just love it here too. Days of planning . Next , we are digging a hole to China! Aaron found just the spot to start digging the other day. I just LOVE boys!
I hope you are well and enjoying Autumn. Your pumpkins look fantastic. I have never seen such orange pumpkins before. So strange how each part of the World has such different foods.
How are your book sales going? I have always wanted to write a book and keep putting it off. Maybe one day you can publish mine~….
    Love to you dear friend
    Stay well
